He completed his university education in Ondokuz Mayıs University (Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology) in 1989. He started to work as a Research Assistant at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1990. She received her Master’s degree from the Institute of Science (Department of Biology) of the same University in 1991. He completed his doctorate with the thesis titled “Chemical Composition of Rhodococcus ruber with Different Growth Conditions” at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, where he went with a YÖK scholarship in 1999.

In 2003, Assistant Professor at Gazi University. Dr. was appointed as He received the title of associate professor in 2011. In 2015, he transferred to Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Medicine. In 2016, he was appointed as a Professor to the Medical Faculty of the same University, Department of Medical Microbiology. During these processes, he carried out duties such as department chair, vice dean, advisor to the rector, high school director, institute director, foreign relations coordinator and head of the local ethics committee for animal experiments. He was appointed as the Dean of Samsun University Faculty of Medicine in 2021. He is married and has 3 children.

Research Areas: Investigation of probiotic bacteria of human and food origin.

Analyses of chemical structures (fatty acids, mycolic acids, polar lipids, vitamins and carbohydrates) forming the bacterial cell wall by GC, GC-MS, HPLC and PyMS. Investigation of surface active properties of microorganisms. Investigation of antibiotic resistance of pathogenic P. aeruginosa and S. aureus and antimicrobial activity of some actinobacteria species on pathogens. Bacterial systematics.
