Prof. Dr. Mustafa Irmak

Vice Dean

He was born in Sinop, Durağan, in 1982. He completed his primary education at Durağan Cumhuriyet Elementary School in 1992, and his secondary education at Durağan Imam-Hatip High School in 1999. He graduated from Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Rize Faculty of Theology in 2003. Afterward, he was appointed as a research assistant at the same faculty in 2004. He completed his master's thesis titled "A Study on Nâsih Verbs in Arabic" at KTÜ Social Sciences Institute in 2006 and his doctoral dissertation titled "The Issue of Haber (News) and İnşâ (Report) in Arabic Rhetoric" at Marmara University, Social Sciences Institute in 2011.

He worked as a faculty member at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (RTEÜ), Faculty of Theology, from 2012 to 2023. During this period, he conducted research related to his field in Jordan for three months in 2013. In 2017, he became an associate professor. In May 2023, he was appointed to Samsun University, Faculty of Theology.

His academic areas of interest include language teaching, the grammar and rhetoric of the Qur'an, and Ottoman translations, focusing on these fields.
